England’s most storied and inspirational warrior king is revealed in a new, one-man adaptation of the Shakespeare history starring B. Iden Payne Award-winning actor/director and Austin Chronicle Arts Editor Robert Faires. Over the course of 75 minutes, with only a few household props, he leads the audience from Henry’s throne across the English Channel into the French court, through a fearful war and into one of the most charming wooing scenes in Shakespeare. Henry V is directed by Catherine Weidner, Associate Professor at The Theatre School of DePaul University in Chicago and is the former Program Director of The Shakespeare Theatre Company Academy for Classical Acting. She has directed Taming of the Shrew and Titus Andronicus for the Illinois Shakespeare Festival. Lighting design is by Jason Amato and sound design by William Meadows. The show is a mere 80 minutes in length and takes its cue from Macgyver, using only a bench, a bowl of water, and flashlight to conquer France. a Rude Fusion co-production |
