WHAT THE CRITICS HAVE TO SAY: "Unlike any other theater event you'll experience this fall...Hancock
is a talented playwright plumbing the depth of humankind's evil and
how we recognize or document that evil." ", playwright David Hancock, director Vicky Boone, and the show’s
designers have certainly crafted a dreamscape — in which subjects
seem to bubble from the darkness of the subconscious, where bizarre
images erupt into view, sometimes again and again. The element of chance
woven into the script charges the atmosphere with unpredictability and
sometimes unsettling repetition...[the actors] are as fierce, committed,
and willing to walk the edge..." OTHER USEFUL INFO: The development and production of THE INCUBUS ARCHIVES (formerly titled "Leftover Future" and "Ordering Seconds") received generous support from the National Endowment Arts. The script was originally commissioned by Frontera@Hyde Park theatre (Artistic Director, Vicky Boone) and was further developed at the Sundance Theatre Lab in the summer of 1999. The Design Team for The Incubus Archives included Leliah Stewart (Scenic), Stephen Pruitt (Lighting), Emily Fordyce (Sound) and Elspeth Lauder Mason (Costumes). The ensemble cast featured local Austin favorites Robert Fisher, Brad Carlin, Peck Phillips, Christine J. Moore, Heather Hanna, Jenny Larson and Jill Swanson. LINKS: |
