Rude Mechanicals is one of Austin’s fastest growing theatre companies

Rude Mechanicals has repeatedly ranked in the top three by the City of Austin for arts funding – ahead of other theatre companies with budgets over 20 times its size.
Rude Mechanicals is one of only a handful of regional theatre companiesin the U.S. that is creating work that tours to national presenting venues, and the only company in Austin to do so.
Our audience size is exploding. Last season over 6,000 people attended our productions, and increase of approximately 1,000 from the previous year.
In ten seasons, Rude Mechanicals has received over 160 nominations for artistic excellence from the Austin Critic’s Table Awards and the B. Iden Payne Awards, and other national awards.
In only seven seasons, our annual budget has grown expontentially to its current size of $210,000.
